Patrol Program
The vehicle patrols are a mix of a patrol car touring the site and a general foot patrol of common areas around the building. Response assigns minimum and maximum amounts of time on site. In the event that a Response agent must leave your site mid-patrol to respond to a security on call request from another site, the balance of the minimum time will be added to the next patrol and noted on our nightly site report. Our standard patrol consists of checking the following: (as applicable)
- Visitor Parking
- Tenant Parking
- Garbage rooms
- Health and Safety Issues
- Take note of all burnt lights in common areas
- Ensure no canvassers or solicitors are on site
- Secure doors
On-Site Guard
Response will be required to provide qualified personnel to staff a security and customer service role. Response agents will be required to interact with the public, clients of the facility and assist staff to ensure the safe and productive function of the centre under direct control of the Client’s designated personnel. agent selected for these posts shall be beyond reproach in their dress and deportment and possess excellent communication skills as well as the ability to operate with little to no direct on site supervision.
Response Policy dictates that an agent checks into dispatch 15 minutes prior to shift start. If an agent has not reported in on site, dispatch or a mobile officer will contact the location in an attempt to reach the officer. In this event the mobile officer will already be on route and will notify the client on site of his/her arrival time. Should it be confirmed that a site officer will not be attending his/her site, a mobile patrol officer will be dispatched to the designated site and arrive within 60 minutes of the shift change notification. Mobile will contact on site client representative and notify of his/her estimated time of arrival. A part time officer who possesses the training and ability to conduct the post order within reason will be contacted as a replacement.
Guard Tour System The Guard tour system provides verification that the guards are performing their patrol job correctly. The guard walks his/her rounds and touches pids at each designated location to provide verification of their rounds. This also helps to ensure that the guard is checking location in which the client deems of high importance. Data is downloaded weekly and kept at the Response office for future reference.
Alarm Response
Response Security is Ottawa’s largest mobile patrol/alarm response company in Eastern Ontario / Western Quebec. We are Eastern Ontario’s and Western Quebec’s ONLY ULC Certified Alarm Response Company. Our ULC Alarm response policy dictates alarm procedures and key storage methods. We follow the ULC guideline for alarm response which mandates a 20 minute response time to all dispatches supported by our infrastructure as noted in the ULC regulation CAN/ULC Standard S301-M88.
Response, at present, holds over 60% of the alarm response market in the Greater Ottawa area. Our clients include ADT, Protection One/Protectron, CHUBB, Microtec, Henderson Security and many more.

Private Parking Enforcement (ParkandPay.ca regulated through Ottawa Parking Services)
Response agents are presently all capable of writing private parking infractions for fire routes, handicap parking and private property parking tickets at all Ontario properties. In the event that a site is not registered with Response, we will make the necessary arrangements to have it added to our list. This service is conducted free of charge during regular scheduled patrols, through our Park and Pay program.
Security On-Call
Security on call is a program that can be available, allowing your tenants, customers or employees an alternative to report possible suspicious persons on site or loiterers without waiting for police who rate this as a low priority call. When security is on site, customers see our patrol vehicles as re-assurance knowing that someone is checking up on their behalf. This instills peace of mind knowing that their property managers are taking every possible reasonable step to ensure their well-being.
The service is available for your tenants 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with a call to the central dispatch at 567-2737.
Response will call all complainants before and after to inform them of the action taken. This will reassure the tenant that something has been done in response to their concerns. All callers have the option of reporting anonymously.
PATROL CARS
Our current patrol vehicles consist primarily of Chevrolet Impalas and Dodge Chargers.
